Did April showers dampen home sales?
LSTAR, the London-St.Thomas Association of Realtors reported that April 2011 saw 26.3% fewer homes sell when compared to April 2010.
That’s an eye catcher! However April 2010 was a record month; 26.5% higher than April 2009. So let’s throw April 2010 out of comparison and lo0k at April 2009 and March 2011 and compare those months to April 2011
April 2011 sales =750. March 2011 sales = 809 April 2009 sales =804
April 2011 sales are about 7% lower. When you cconsider the weather we had, maybe that’s not so bad.
And there was a silver lining in all those clouds. The average price went up.
